Sweet Dreams Mattress Care Guide | Turning Instructions & 5 Year Warranty

How to care for your Sweet Dreams mattress and divan, including rotation schedules, assembly guidance and manufacturer warranty information.

Sweet Dreams mattresses and divan sets are designed to provide long-lasting comfort and support. Following the correct care guidance will help prolong the life of your bed and ensure your warranty remains valid.

Assembly Guidance

To ensure safe installation:

  • A minimum of two people is recommended when installing the bed.

  • Remove all protective packaging carefully and dispose of safely.

  • Attach castors by pushing firmly into position by hand, then tapping gently. Do not use a metal hammer.

  • If linking bars are provided, position both halves squarely before securing.

  • If joining clips are supplied, stand divan halves upright, align and secure before lowering.

  • Fit the headboard using the marked fixing holes and supplied bolts.

  • Allow the mattress to air for 3–4 hours before fitting bedding.

A slight “newness” aroma may be noticeable at first, this is normal and will fade with airing.

Turning & Rotating Instructions

Proper turning is essential to maintain even settlement.

Turn Mattresses

If you have purchased a turn mattress:

  • Turn weekly for the first 3 months.

  • Turn every 4 weeks thereafter.

Use the handles for positioning only. Do not carry the mattress using handles alone. Assistance may be required.

No Turn Mattresses

If you have purchased a no turn mattress:

  • Rotate every 2 weeks for the first 3 months.

  • Rotate every 3 months thereafter.

Natural Settlement

Modern upholstery fillings are designed to mould to your body over the first few weeks. This is normal and should not be regarded as a manufacturing defect.

Regular turning helps fillings settle evenly and prolongs mattress life.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Do not bend or fold the mattress, as this may damage the spring unit and invalidate the warranty.

  • Do not use chemical or detergent cleaners, as these may damage the covering and stitching.

  • If soiled, lightly sponge using a weak solution of soap and water. Avoid excessive wetting.

  • We recommend using a mattress cover or underblanket to reduce dye transfer from body moisture.

  • Air the mattress regularly (every 3 months) to maintain freshness.

Storage Drawer Guidance

For storage models: 

  • Do not overload drawer compartments.

  • Excessive weight may cause distortion or damage.

  • Overfilling may cause drawers to jam.

Using a Suitable Base

If purchasing only a mattress:

  • Do not use it on a base for which it was not designed.

  • Using an old or unsuitable base may severely shorten the life of the mattress.

The extended warranty does not apply unless the mattress is used with a suitable base.

Sweet Dreams Warranty & Guarantee

12 Month Guarantee

Sweet Dreams provide a 12 month guarantee covering divans and mattresses against faulty workmanship and materials from the date of purchase.

If a defect occurs within one year, Sweet Dreams will repair or replace the item free of charge.

5 Year Extended Warranty Models

Certain models carry a 5 year warranty.

If a manufacturing defect occurs within the remaining warranty period after year one, replacement is offered on a usage contribution scale based on years remaining:

  • Year 1: Free replacement

  • Year 2: 20% contribution

  • Year 3: 40% contribution

  • Year 4: 60% contribution

  • Year 5: 80% contribution

A contribution towards transportation costs will also be charged on all warranty claims.

Claims must be made through the retailer from whom the bed was purchased and proof of purchase is required.

What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse

  • Soiled or unsanitary items

  • Normal settlement of fillings

  • Use with an unsuitable base

This guarantee applies to purchases made within the United Kingdom only and does not affect your statutory rights.
