Sleepeezee Mattress Care Guide | Turning Instructions & Product Guarantee

How to care for your Sleepeezee mattress and divan, including rotation schedules, pillow top guidance and full guarantee information.

Sleepeezee has been producing high-quality mattresses for over 100 years. Proper care and maintenance will help you get the most from your mattress and ensure your manufacturer’s guarantee remains valid.

On Delivery & Ventilation

When your mattress or divan arrives:

  • Carefully unwrap it and leave it in a well-ventilated room for a few hours before covering or sleeping on it.

  • Some mattresses with natural or foam fillings may have a slight smell, which should dissipate within approximately 14 days with regular airing.

Loosening bed linen regularly will help air circulation and keep the mattress fresh.

Using the Correct Base

Sleepeezee recommend using one of their divan bases, as an old or unsuitable base may result in mattress sagging.

If using a slatted frame:

  • The maximum distance between slats should be 3 inches (76mm).

An unsuitable base may affect support and invalidate your guarantee.

Mattress Protection

Using a mattress protector will:

  • Minimise wear and tear

  • Guard against stains

  • Help maintain appearance

  • Support guarantee eligibility

We strongly recommend a breathable protector.

Body Impressions & Adjustment Period

Due to the quality upholstery used in Sleepeezee mattresses, natural body impressions will develop in the sleeping area. This is normal and not a fault.

Your new bed may also feel different from previous mattresses, and it can take time for your body to adjust to the new level of support.

Turning & Rotating Instructions

Turning and rotating helps distribute body weight evenly and prolong mattress life.

Double-Sided Mattresses

  • Turn weekly for the first three months.

  • Turn monthly thereafter.

Non-Turn Mattresses

  • Rotate head-to-foot weekly for the first three months.

  • Rotate monthly thereafter.

Mattress handles are designed to aid rotation only — do not lift the mattress using handles alone.

Pillow Top Care

Pillow top mattresses require special attention.

  • Rotate weekly head-to-toe for the first three months.

  • Rotate monthly thereafter.

  • Pillow tops are single-sided and should not be flipped.

It is normal for pillow tops to show deeper body impressions as they settle.

If a ridge forms in the centre, this is known as the “north-south divide” and is a natural result of uneven usage.

When rotating, gently pull the edges outward and downward to stretch the top panel evenly.

Cleaning & Maintenance

To maintain your mattress:

  • Replace sheets regularly to encourage air circulation.

  • Treat stains immediately using a damp cloth.

  • Avoid detergents or chemical cleaners as these may damage the fabric.

Never vacuum the mattress surface.

What Not to Do

Avoid actions that may damage your mattress or base:

  • Do not bend, fold or roll the mattress.

  • Do not overload divan drawers (maximum 15kg per drawer).

  • Do not stand, kneel or jump on the bed.

  • Avoid prolonged sitting on the mattress edge.

  • Do not remove mattress or fire safety labels.

  • Do not smoke in bed or use open flames nearby.

Failure to follow care guidance may invalidate your guarantee.

Divan & Ottoman Assembly Guidance

Sleepeezee divan bases require:

  • Castors to be inserted carefully (do not use excessive force).

  • Linking bars secured between divan halves.

  • Headboards fitted using supplied bolts.

  • Drawer retaining straps removed after positioning.

For ottoman bases:

  • Adult assembly is required.

  • Two people are recommended.

  • Do not use power tools.

  • Do not operate the divan without the mattress in place.
