Dormeo Mattress Care Guide | OCTAsmart Expansion & 18 Year Warranty

How to unpack, care for and maintain your Dormeo mattress purchased from Land of Beds, including OCTAsmart® guidance and warranty details.

Dormeo mattresses are designed using advanced sleep technologies such as Octaspring® and Ecocell® to deliver breathable, responsive support.

Unpacking Your Dormeo Mattress

Most Dormeo mattresses, including OCTAsmart® models, are vacuum-packed for hygienic and eco-responsible delivery

When your mattress arrives:

  1. Take it to the room where it will be used.

  2. Carefully cut the outer packaging using scissors or a blunt knife — take care not to damage the cover.

  3. The mattress will begin expanding immediately.

Your mattress will regain its shape within 15 minutes, but Dormeo recommend allowing it to breathe for at least 6 additional hours to allow full recovery of internal components

A slight new mattress smell is normal and will dissipate within a few hours.

Placement & Suitable Base

Dormeo mattresses can be placed on:

  • Platform bases

  • Wooden slatted bases

  • Divan bases

If placed directly on the floor or metal mesh bases that may accumulate moisture, ensure the mattress is aired regularly

Do Dormeo Mattresses Need Turning?

OCTAsmart® mattresses do not require flipping or rotating. They are designed with durable Octaspring® technology and breathable core materials, so there is no scheduled turning requirement.

For other Dormeo models stocked at Land of Beds, always refer to your specific product information,  most are single-sided and should not be flipped.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Removable Cover

OCTAsmart® mattresses feature a removable cover:

  • The cover can be washed at 40°C

     

This helps keep the mattress fresh and hygienic.

Always follow label instructions and allow the cover to dry completely before refitting.

General Cleaning

  • Air the mattress regularly by turning back bedding.

  • Avoid soaking or saturating the mattress core.

  • Do not use harsh chemical cleaners.

The OCTAvent™ air system is designed to promote airflow and freshness.

Natural Settlement & Softening

Normal softening of the mattress core over time is expected and does not affect its pressure-relieving qualities

A reduction in mattress thickness of between 5–15% may occur as materials settle. This is considered normal and not a manufacturing defect

Mattress dimensions may vary by ±2%, which is within tolerance.

Dormeo OCTAsmart® 18 Year Limited Warranty

Dormeo provide an 18-year limited warranty on OCTAsmart® mattress cores.

The removable cover carries a 1-year warranty.

Year 8 45% contribution
Year 9 50% contribution
Year 10 55% contribution
Year 11 60% contribution
Year 12 65% contribution
Year 13 70% contribution
Year 14 75% contribution
Year 15: 80% contribution
Year 16 85% contribution
Year 17 90% contribution
Year 18 99% contribution

If a valid claim is made after 5 years, an equivalent replacement mattress is offered subject to the percentage contribution listed above.

Warranty continues from the original purchase date and does not restart after replacement.

What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not apply if:

  • The mattress is damaged due to misuse, cuts, tears, burns or stains.

  • The mattress has not been maintained according to care instructions.

  • The mattress is not in a hygienic condition at inspection.

  • Mould, odours or dirt result from poor airing.

  • The mattress was not opened within one month of delivery.

  • Original proof of purchase cannot be supplied.

  • Transportation costs are incurred (these are the buyer’s responsibility).

Claims relating to cosmetic issues not affecting performance must be reported within 30 days of deliver.

Making a Warranty Claim

If you believe your Dormeo mattress has a manufacturing defect:

  • Keep your original proof of purchase.

  • Contact Land of Beds with details and photographs of the sleeping surface.

  • The mattress may require professional inspection.

Responsible Mattress Recycling

When replacing your Dormeo mattress, responsible disposal is important.

At Land of Beds, we offer a mattress removal and recycling service alongside delivery to ensure environmentally responsible disposal.
